My parrot loves to play Marco Polo with me
My African Grey Parrot, Rufus, likes to play interactive word games -- Yes, really! For instance, he likes to play Marco Polo with me when I am in another room.
He picked it up all by himself, we did not teach it to him. He is a great observer of things around him, and just pays attention.
It started because my hubby and I don't like to walk all over the house looking for each other. One of us will say "Marco" and the other will say "Polo" so we know where the other is.
Marco Polo is actually a game that you play while swimming with others in a pool - it is like tag. The person who is "It" tries to find the others with their eyes closed, only going by the sound of the "Polo"s after they say "Marco".
Any way, Rufus, the observant parrot, thought this was a fun game. So, from time to time he will just holler out "Marco" and wait for me to holler "Polo". This does not work in reverse. If I holler "Marco", Rufus will just ignore me. Rufus answers to nobody! He is his own man.

I am not a nag - I am a motivational speaker
My hubby bought me a very nice anniversary present- a t-shirt that says “I am not a nag, I’m a motivational speaker!”
At last my hubby understands why I nag him, I mean gently remind him, to do things around the house. I have finally fooled him, I mean convinced him, that I am only helping him achieve his own personal goals.

Hi there! My screen name is "X-Evolutionist", but please call me "X" for short. I'm a Christian married lady in my fifties. I've only believed in God for a very short time considering my age. This site is about the things I learned that got me to believe.
I Was Raised Without a Belief in God
I was taught that life on earth came about by a process of time and chance from as far back as I can remember. It was all I had ever known. There was no need for God in my philosophy as the world made sense this way. Even though my world made sense without God, I was still curious if he existed. I know now that we were designed by God to have a desire to know him.Over the years, I would often come across Christians and I would ask them why they believed in God. I always got the same two answers: either "I've always believed in God" or "The Bible tells me so". Neither of these explanations were compelling arguments for the existence of God as far as I was concerned.
However, my world was about to turn upside down...
I Met Some Friends Who Were Creationists
When I was over forty, I met some people who were Christians, and like always, I asked them why they believed that God existed. Surprisingly, they had something totally different to say. They said that they knew God existed because, according to them, the scientific evidence points to creation, and not evolution, and thus to a creator. Of course, I knew that they were ignorant, and I told them so.But, they were very confident in what they believed. They basically dared me to read a book to see if they were right. I fought it for months, but, I ended up deciding that it wouldn't hurt to read a book.
They Dared Me to Read A Book about Fossils
They loaned me a book about fossils. The book didn't really have anything different than I had always been taught over the years in science classes, natural history museums and television nature shows, but it used some logical arguments that I had never heard before.It showed that the fossil record consists of separate and distinct types of animals with no blending in between as we are led to expect from the theory of evolution. The conclusion was that the basic types of animals were created by God and then genetic variation took off from there and developed the different types of animals within each group. For example, Collies, German Shepherds and St. Bernards are just different types of dogs, as are wolves and coyotes. Please see my page: Using the Dog-Kind of Animal to Disprove Evolution

I Read a Book about the Origin of Life - Life Required a Creator
They loaned me another book about the origin of life, how complicated life is, and how difficult it would be for life to be a product of time and chance. The book concludes that life had to be created by God.We in the United States are taught in public school that life was formed over time by chance. But, I have learned that this is not supported by scientific evidence.

I read yet another book. This book, like the others, concentrated on the scientific evidence against evolution and for creation. By the time I started reading this book I had an insatiable curiosity to read more and more books.This book explained that events in the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis in the Bible fit in with the scientific evidence of the world. For instance, this book shows that the fossil record was actually caused by a world wide flood.
I Was Surprised To Find That So Many Scientists Did Not Believe In Evolution
Most of the books I read were by scientists. This really surprised me because all my life I'd been told that evolution was "scientific" and creation was "religious". Now, I was reading books by scientists who believed that "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" as it says in the first verse of the Bible.I was particularly interested in the scientific information because I had always been interested in science. But, as the authors were Christians, they always wove the reasons they believed the Bible through the books.
As I was learning about the fossil evidence and geology, etc, I was also learning how these things fit with what the Bible said about creation, the flood and the Tower of Babel, among other things. I learned that the Old Testament was compatible with physical and biological evidence.
Meanwhile, I Started Going to Church - And Still Read More Books by Scientists
My insatiable reading continued and I read many books. During this time, I also began dating and then fell in love with one of my friends who initially told me why he believed in God. I started going to church with him. Before church he would rehearse with the other musicians that did the music for church and I would read my books.At Some Point, I No Longer Believed In Evolution, but I Did Not Believe In God, Either
At some point into my reading I stopped believing that evolution was supported by the scientific evidence. But, on the other hand, I still did not believe in God or creation, either. This was a very confusing period of time for me. I also was reading the Bible by this time even though I did not believe in God. During church I would listen to the music and the sermon politely, I but never believed any of it - until one morning about nine months after I started reading that first book about fossils.Suddenly, I Was Filled With the Holy Spirit
One Sunday morning during rehearsal I was reading one of my books and I suddenly started to cry. I didn't know why. But I kept reading. I started to shake and continued to cry, but I kept reading. All of a sudden, I felt something that I can only describe as being filled by God. I suddenly believed everything. I believed in God, I believed that "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" and I believed that Jesus is the name of God.My boyfriend was still rehearsing, but he could see that something was happening to me. When rehearsal was over he came to sit by me and we both cried during church. After church, the pastor's wife came running over to me. It was obvious what was happening to me.
I Accepted Jesus as My Lord and Savior
At this point I couldn't talk because I was crying and shaking so much, but she led me through a prayer and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and became born again as a Christian.This all happened during nine months during the year 1996. Since then, I have kept reading more books. Each book gives me more and more confirmation of what I now know to be true.
Now I Want To Tell You Why I Believe In God
Now, I want to share the things I've learned with others. I want others to know that there is scientific proof that God exists.I feel that God has a plan for me. I believe that He had me wait until now to believe in God so I would be passionate about telling others why I believe.
By the way, a short time after I became a Christian my boyfriend proposed marriage and we are now very happily married.

My Belief in God Began with a Book Recommendation
After over 40 years of not believing that God exists, I was dared by a Christian friend to read a book. I was surprised to find that there was scientific evidence for the existence of God.After that first book, I found other books with more scientific evidence. The science journal "Nature" published their research regarding this skull and their papers are quoted extensively in the appendix.
According to the many quotes from "Nature" it took a period of ten years to date this one fossil skull. This skull caused a big controversy in the scientific community.
This ten year process is detailed step by step using the words of the researchers, themselves.
There were many dates given by the various radiometric dating techniques. But, the scientists could not agree on the "right" date of the many that were given by the various techniques.
The author shows that a lot of the
sciencerelated to the fossils and evolution is subjective, not objective as science should be.
• Buried Alive:
The Startling Truth About Neanderthal Man
by Jack Cuozzo
Most museums only have cast copies of the skulls and most scientists have never seen a real one.
He got permission to x-ray the skulls and there are pictures in the book. He shows that the skulls have been put together improperly with the jaw jutting out.
Because of the belief in evolution the jaw has been put in a more ape like fashion in all Neanderthal skulls.
Then, these improperly assembled skulls were copied and sent museums all over the world.
The
evidencefor human evolution is based upon the
beliefin human evolution. There is no objective data.

This book discusses the supposed evidence for evolution as taught in text books.

This author is one of the people interviewed in the book above entitled The Case for a Creator: A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points Toward God.

This might be my favorite of all the books on this list. The editor compiled papers by fifty scientists.

has detailed scientific explanations.

My Favorite Bible Translation
I read the New International Version of the Bible. I came to believe in God late in life, and I find this version to be very easy to read. It is written in modern English as we speak it today. The NIV website says this about it:
The New International Version is a completely new translation of the Holy Bible made by more than a 100 scholars working directly from the best-available Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts.

Jesus Taught a Recent Creation
Jesus believed that that Genesis was literal history. If a Christian has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, the Lord's beliefs should be important to them. Jesus believed in a literal Adam and Eve, not only that, but the Bible says he is descended from Adam and Eve.Jesus believed that the flood of Noah was an actual historic event that destroyed all life on earth except Noah and his family. Jesus believed the flood of Noah happened when it rained for 40 days and 40 nights and the fountains of the deep burst open.
If there was an actual worldwide flood that covered the entire surface of the earth for over a year, then the plant and animal life that became fossilized because of the flood is not a record of millions of years of evolution.
I will be quoting Jesus from the Gospel, and then I will discuss the passages he is referring to. First, I will show that Jesus believed in a literal Adam and Eve created at the beginning of time:
Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?"Here is another place in the Gospel where this same conversation is quoted:
"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female, and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Matthew 19:4-6
"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mark 10:6-9Jesus is referring to Chapter one of Genesis and he is saying that Adam and Eve were created at the beginning. There is no room for millions of years before the beginning of time.
Now, let me show that Jesus believed that the flood of Noah was an actual, historical event:
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24:37-39Here is another place in the Gospel where this same conversation is quoted:
"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:26-27In this passage, Jesus is talking about an actual event recorded in Chapter 7 of Genesis:
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month-on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.Jesus believed that there was a flood over the entire world for over a year and that this flood killed all animals and plants that weren't on the Ark or could survive in the water. There was a violent flood caused by the "springs of the great deep" bursting forth and the "floodgates of the heavens" pouring down. This was a violent storm that buried all the dead animals and plants in mud and sediment.
On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark. They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings. Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark. The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than twenty feet. Every living thing that moved on the earth perished-birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind. Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.
The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days. Genesis 7:11-23
Fossilization occurs when living tissue is covered with mud and silt and the soft tissue is replaced by minerals in the mud and sediment. The fossils are a record of a worldwide flood, they are not a record of millions of years.
Jesus said:
I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? John 3:12Logic demands that if someone accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior they must also believe what he says about "earthly things". It is quite obvious that Jesus was a creationist.
Jesus Taught that Adam and Eve Were Real People
A critical problem for Christians is that Adam is in the genealogy of Jesus. Jesus was a descendant of Adam. (See Luke 3:38) If one assumes that Adam is not a real person, created in the beginning by God as the Bible says, how then can we believe that Jesus is who the Bible says? How can we believe that he died for our sins or that he was resurrected? Either we believe that both Adam and Jesus were real people or we must believe that neither of them were real people.Another problem for a Christian is that if he believes in evolution, he is calling Jesus a liar. Jesus said that in the beginning God created them male and female. Evolution requires millions of years for it to have happened. If people were created "in the beginning" that doesn't leave room for millions of years before their creation. How then could a man who lied about that be the son of God?
Also, the Bible says that death is the result of sin. Evolution requires millions of years of death before people evolved. If there was already death, then sin isn't the result of death. Therefore, death cannot atone for sin. Therefore the death of Jesus does not atone for our sins. The creation as described in Genesis is vital to Christianity.
Evolution was originally devised as a way of getting rid of God. It is a very sad compromise for a Christian to believe in evolution, and it is not necessary. There is no
proof that evolution has happened so it is not necessary to add evolution to the Bible's version of creation. There are many scientific evidences that the earth is very young.
Did God use evolution? No.
Jesus' Sacrifice Only Makes Sense With Creation
Here is a comment that an atheist made about Christianity and evolution:Bozarth, G. Richard, "The Meaning of Evolution," American Atheist (February 1978), p 30:
Christianity has fought, still fights, and will fight science to the desperate end over evolution, because evolution destroys utterly and finally the very reason Jesus' earthly life was supposedly made necessary. Destroy Adam and Eve and the original sin, and in the rubble you will find the sorry remains of the son of god. Take away the meaning of his death. If Jesus was not the redeemer who died for our sins, and this is what evolution means, then Christianity is nothing!This atheist understands the situation better than many compromising Christians.
Jesus Was Not Just a Great Moral Teacher
Here is what C.S. Lewis said about that possibility:"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. The Bible Teaches That Jesus is God
Here is an excerpt from chapter one of the book of John:In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. the light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. There came a man who was sent from God; his name was john. he came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. Genesis is my favorite book of the Bible, and Chapter 1 is my favorite chapter. This chapter describes the six-day process of God creating the heavens and the earth:
The First Day
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning– the first day.
The Second Day
6 And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning– the second day.
The Third Day

If Evolution has Proof, Why Make Fraudulent Proof?
In 1859, in his book Origin of the Species, Charles Darwin said:Why, if species have descended from other species by insensibly fine gradations, do we not everywhere see innumerable transitional forms.This is from chapter six entitled Difficulties on the Theory. Scientists who believe evolution have been searching for transitional forms ever since but they have been not found. Therefore, fraudulent fossils have been made and presented as transitional forms.
The Archaeoraptor
National Geographic is the magazine of the National Geographic Society a scientific and educational institution according to their website. A fossil for a new find named Archaeoraptor was promoted in the National Geographic magazine as the missing link between dinosaur and birds. National Geographic later had to print a correction after further research revealed they had been fooled by the fraudulent fossil. Parts of two fossils, a dinosaur and a bird, had been glued together.Piltdown Man
Piltdown Man was promoted as the missing link between ape and man. Piltdown Man was identified by a fossil skull. Piltdown Man was in science books and taught to children in school for almost 40 years before the skull was examined to see if it was authentic. When it was finally examined it was determined that the top of a human skull had been attached to the jaw of an orangutan. The phony fossil had been stained and painted to make it look old. The Peppered Moth
This is something that I was taught in science classes many times over the years. In this article entitled: What About The Peppered Moth? Dr. John Morris, Ph.D. describes it this way:Here's the well-told scenario. In the early 1800s, nearly all of the individual peppered moths (Biston betularia) were of a light grey, speckled color. Active mostly at night, they needed to hide by day from predatory birds. Since trees and rocks were typically covered with mottled light green, gray lichens, the moths were effectively camouflaged. A rare peppered moth exhibited a dark color and was easily seen by birds; thus they seldom survived. On average, over 98% of all the species were of the light variety, yet with both dark and light were of the same species and were fully interfertile.Several years ago, this study was found to be faked. Then came the industrial revolution and the air filled with soot, covering the trees and rocks with a toxic film, killing the lichens and darkening the trees. Soon the light variety of moth was easily seen while the darker were camouflaged. By the turn of the century, 98% of the moths were dark. When English medical doctor Bernard Kettlewell studied the phenomena in the 1950s, it became "Darwin's Missing Evidence" natural selection in action. ...
... And now comes the revelation that Kettlewell's compelling argument has not been verified by other investigators (Nature, vol. 396, November 5, 1998, pp. 35,36). Furthermore, we now know that neither dark nor light moths ever spend their days on exposed tree trunks or rocks as depicted in the famous textbook pictures. His original associates have even admitted that the photographs were faked, that the moths were glued onto the tree. Thus the star witness for evolution has perjured itself, and knowledgeable evolutionists are recommending it not be used.Even if this was a true study, all it would prove is that there was light and dark moths and then light and dark moths after the industrial revolution. Nothing evolved at all.

Using the Dog-Kind of Animal to Disprove Evolution
On this page, I use kinds of dogs as an example that animals are in distinct groups, such as dogs cats or bears, but that there is no overlapping between groups. Each group has a lot of varieties that are able to mate and produce fertile offspring: the definition of the termspecies.
Dogs, wolves and coyotes are all the same kind of animal. There is no evidence in living things, or in the fossil record, that any basic kind of animal changed into any other basic kind of animal. Each basic kind of animal must have been created.

All Dogs are the Same Species
All of these dogs look very different from each other. They are different sizes and different colors, plus, they have different coat textures. But, they are all the same species: The Domestic Dog. How then can the grey wolf and the red wolf be different species? They look the same except for the color fur.The deal is, we KNOW that all dogs are the same species because we know that they are the same species. Yes, you read that correctly. If a scientist came along and saw a poodle or a St. Bernard living in the wild, he would publish a paper on the new species he has found.
But, since we have lived so closely with dogs for hundreds of years, they would not dare try to fool us by telling us that a poodle is a different species than a St. Bernard. We know that dogs are dogs are dogs because the dog next door jumps over the fence to have babies with our dog. Then, the babies were more dogs.
But, we are told that all the little variation in groups of dogs (and bears, cats,etc) is a new species .
The Science of Taxonomy — Definition of Species
Carl Linnaeus is called the Father of Taxonomy. He developed the classification system that became what now called taxonomy. He was just trying to categorize the types of animals to see how many kinds of animal that God created.But, evolution-believing scientists have taken his system of categorizing animals into the kinds that God kinds, and decided that it now shows evolutionary relationships.
Carl Linnaeus defined the word Species like this (paraphrase): If two animals can mate and produce fertile offspring then they are the same species.
He was trying to find the maximum number of animals that God created in order to have all the variations that we now have.
Dogs, Wolves, Coyotes, etc can all Produce Fertile Offspring Together
It is well known that different species of wild dogs can cross-breed and produce fertile offspring together. But, is the word cross-breed really accurate?Cross-breed means to mate to different species together. Wolfdog and coydog are names of two of the cross-bred variations. Carl Linnaeus. who defined the term species defined it that if they can mate and have babies then they are the same species. What is the deal? Why are not dogs, wolves, coyotes, etc all the same species?
There is no Cross-Breeding between Dogs, Cats and Bears
The definition of species has changed just in my lifetime. Now, the term species is giving to every small various within a type of animal. Why? Because there is not enough evidence to prove evolution (because it is not true).Dogs only make dogs, bears only make bears, cats only make cats. There is no cross-breeding between cats and dogs, or between dogs and bears, or between bears and cats. But, they are in the same Order Carnivore, meaning that they are related to each other evolutionarily-speaking. (again, by using the categories that Carl Linnaeus made to name the kinds of animals that God created.)
Dogs, Cats and Bears Cannot Mate, but are Related According to Evolutionists
But, how can cats, dogs and bears be related if they are isolated within their own reproductive circle? Exactly. That is what evolutionists are trying to hide. If they define a zillion species of dogs, a zillion species of cats, and a zillion species of bears, we will be fooled into believing that new animals are being developed by evolution all the time.Because evolution is called a fact (even though there is no proof) they have to make more evidence or people might quit believing it.
Conclusion: God Created the Basic Types of Animals
In reality, God created the basic kinds of animals: dogs, cats, bears, etc. Each basic kind of animal has the capacity for adapting to any ecological zone they come across. That is not evolution, that is good planning. That is only the innate genetic diversity that God programmed into all his creations.Endangered Species

In thirty years, after the isolated population of goldfish in my backyard pond has been only reproducing with each other, I am going to have an endangered species of goldfish. I am going go ask for federal funding to protect their habitat.X
